Fondly known as the ‘Mathemagician’ by both friends and arch-nemeses, this Harlem native began flexing her analytical muscles as a child with block puzzles similar to Tetris and Jenga. She attributes her innate love of geometry and topology to space Lego and stretchy rubber bands, respectively. As a teaching assistant for Calculus courses at Columbia University and a Graduate Teaching Fellow at UCLA she merged her love of theoretical mathematics with her passion for teaching.
Michelle currently heads development and special projects with the New York based arts collective BLVCK AMERICA.
