Experience
Malkia was born in Boston, MA but moved to St. Thomas, VI at the age of 13. After graduating from high school, she received her BA in Political Science from Hampton University and then went on to receive a Master's in Educational Administration and Policy from Howard University in 2004. She has over six years of experience in administration and teaching. In 2006, she worked as a SAT Prep Instructor for Bell Curves in NYC but then moved on to teach the GED. As the Program Director for an afterschool, Malkia created curriculum,
developed a successful arts program and trained teachers. While teaching abroad in Japan, she was promoted to coordinator for the kids program. Presently, she is working on starting a charter school.
